Blueprint Reading & Material Take-off - Fargo, ND

National trainer, Casey Voorhees, will be conducting his popular Blueprint Reading & Material Take-Off Workshop in Fargo!

This two-full day workshop provides instruction and discussion of residential construction methods, blueprint reading and material take-off.  Attendees will receive hands-on experience figuring an actual set of working drawings.   

•    Attendees will learn basic blueprint reading by identifying lines, symbols and details while developing an understanding of elevations, floor plans, framing and sectional views.

•    Students will be introduced to various residential construction methods and estimating  formulas while working on a basic single level home with a trussed roof.

  • Material applications
  • Floor layouts
  • Wall framing
  • Siding & exterior trim
  • Roof systems
  • Common, hip, valley & jack rafters


Who Should Attend: Estimators, Sales Staff and Design Personnel

Help Us Plan Ahead - Register by December 17 to help BLD Connection plan effectively and meet facility and instructor deadlines. Minimum attendance levels are required to ensure quality group interaction and to hold each class.


About the Instructor: 
Casey Voorhees is the Executive Director for the Western Building Materials Association and has taught this program across the country for many LBM associations.  With over 30 years’ experience leading the program, Casey understands the skills needed to provide your customers with an accurate take-off and good customer service.

Your registration fee includes the class workbook, a set of blueprints, an architectural scale and a joint/truss layout scale. Lunch is also provided each day.
