MN PFML: Employer Requirements Due December 1

Material Matters Member News Industry News/Information

Minnesota’s Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) law begins January 1, 2026, and employers across the state have key responsibilities to complete well before the program launches. December 1, 2025, is the deadline to distribute required employee notices and display the state mandated PFML poster in each workplace.

What Employers Need to Do Now

1. Provide the PFML Employee Notice

All Minnesota employers must give written PFML notice to every employee.

2. Display the Mandatory PFML Workplace Poster

The PFML poster must be placed in a highly visible area of every Minnesota worksite.

These steps are required to stay compliant as the new PFML program moves closer to launch.
