National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association Releases 2025 National Policy Agenda

On February 13, 2025, the National Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) released its 2025 National Policy Agenda, a comprehensive advocacy platform that outlines key priorities for the lumber and building material (LBM) industry in the coming year.

With a new Congress and White House administration in Washington, the 2025 National Policy Agenda serves as the framework for NLBMDA’s engagement with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, White House officials, and federal agencies. The 2025 National Policy Agenda strategically outlines NLBMDA’s efforts to advance legislation which supports small business growth, including advocating for the extension of several key tax provisions set to expire at the end of this year. With Congress intent on passing major legislation over the next year, NLBMDA is strongly positioned to be involved in these discussions to ensure the perspectives of the LBM industry are expressed.

This year, housing affordability continues to be a central focus of our policy agenda, along with eliminating overly burdensome regulations. As suppliers to the residential construction industry, NLBMDA members play a critical role in increasing opportunities for more Americans to realize the dream of homeownership. “With a new political environment, we are optimistic that we can find common ground with Congress and the White House administration to advance policies which address the housing affordability crisis and strengthens the residential construction industry,” said NLBMDA President & CEO Jonathan Paine. “NLBMDA is aggressively working with policymakers to identify areas of collaboration to advance the federal legislative and regulatory policies of the association and to promote the growth of the LBM industry."
